Eco

Oak Field has been an Eco -School for the past 4 years and has achieved both Bronze and Silver awards and we are well on our way to achieving our Green Flag.

We have a strict 'No- Litter' policy and have our ' litter police' who make sure that the younger children know where to dispose of their litter correctly. They make sure that the bins are positioned in the correct place and compost all bio degradable waste.

The Eco- Committee closely monitor our gas, electric and water meters and report back their findings. They are constantly thinking of ways to reduce our carbon footprint and save money!

Recycling bins are placed in all classrooms, so pupils are able to reuse or recycle most materials.

We are lucky enough to have wonderful outside space at Oak Field and we are in the process of developing a Bio-diversity area to attract wildlife into the grounds. We have an annual 'Eco Day' when we all wear green, turn off all the electric appliances and recycle everything!

We encourage our children to think about the environment both local and global, and to take ownership of the future of our planet. Hopefully, at Oak Field we do this in a fun way!
